AMA News: June 2026 Newsletter
01. AMA Summer Schedule + Board of Directors
This summer, the AMA is taking time to refresh our resources and website so we can bring you even more this fall.
During this time you'll hear from us a little less - fewer newsletters, roundtables, webinars, and in-person events, but we'll be back in September with a full slate of programming and updates.
Have a resource suggestion? Send your thoughts at the link below.
Have you ever considered joining the AMA Board of Directors?
Board elections will take place in late September and AMA Members are eligible to join the board. Reach out below if you have any questions or if you are interested in joining the board.
As always, we're available if you need anything in the meantime.
02. Office Hours
An opportunity for direct conversation with experienced industry professionals.
At a time when the industry is changing quickly and many people are navigating these shifts in isolation, the AMA is launching a new monthly initiative to offer something increasingly rare: direct access to experienced professionals working on the front lines of the creative industry.
AMA Office Hours gives artists, agents, and producers the opportunity to ask candid questions, discuss real-world challenges, and gain a practical perspective from people who understand the realities of this business firsthand. Maybe you have questions about:
- Best practices for payroll
- How to properly set up a company
- Why artists need insurance
- Understanding usage rights
Something else? We're all ears!
While we always enjoy seeing new work, the focus of these sessions is conversation, problem-solving, and industry insight rather than portfolio reviews or presentations. This is a working conversation.
Our next session will take place on Monday, July 13th, with AMA President Mary Dail and AMA Communications Director and AI Committee Co-Chair Heather Elder.
Bring your questions, your challenges, or simply your curiosity.
Open To
Agents, artists, and producers across all disciplines, including photographers, directors, DPs, stylists, set and production designers, illustrators, animators, hair and makeup artists, nail artists, and CGI artists.

03. Partner Showcase: Winifred Law
Thursday, June 25, 2026 | 11AM PT / 2PM ET
Please join us for our next Partner Showcase featuring Winifred Law – Hosted by Eva Golinger, Attorney and Founder.
Find out more about the special niche carved out for artists in U.S. immigration law and how and when to obtain the necessary U.S. visas for foreign creatives coming to work on projects and productions in the United States. In these turbulent times, it’s more important than ever to know what type of visa is needed to work on a job in the U.S., even a quick photoshoot or art exhibition. We will talk about the process for the famous O-1 artist visa and how it allows an artist to work legally on different jobs for various employers over multiple years. We will review the dos and don'ts of current travel etiquette and how to manage the ever-changing immigration and international travel landscape.
Attorney Eva Golinger brings over 25 years of experience in immigration law to the discussion with a special spotlight on foreign artists and creatives surviving and prospering in today’s climate.
Partner Showcases are a simple, low‑pressure way to meet the AMA Partners who support our work, learn what they do, and ask practical questions in real time. Think of them as short, conversational spotlights, focused on helpful context, timely insights, and resources you can actually use.
