The AMA is Hiring!

The Artist Management Association (AMA) is hiring a full-time Associate Director to oversee and facilitate the management of the association. This is a new association and new position that will require an innate ability to lead and organize a diverse community of individuals and companies in realizing a common purpose.

This position will report to a board of directors and be responsible for coordinating committee and board meetings. Candidates best suited for this role have experience in project management and administration as well as familiarity with the commercial arts industry and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications

Effective communication that leads to community building amongst member and partner base

  • Creates and maintains an active promotion calendar focused on new member and partner recruitment, education, events and newsletters.

  • Fields and troubleshoots all member and partner inquiries in a kind and engaging way

  • Collects monthly news from partners for inclusion in our newsletters

  • Oversees all AMA's social channels, including FB, Instagram and Linkedin

Operations

Develops and innovates systems for managing all aspects of the organization

  • Leads weekly board meetings

  • Handles all website updates

  • Develops, researches, and schedules monthly webinar series

  • Manages current operational platforms, including Stripe, Memberspace, Community Box, Trello and SquareSpace

Membership & Partnership

Overseas all aspects of membership and partnership

  • Develops and maintains welcome packages for new members and partners

  • Onboards all members and partners across AMA platforms

  • Assists the board in creating meeting opportunities with prospective members and partners

  • Brainstorms ways to engage with membership and partnership to promote AMA initiatives

  • Actively seeks new members and partners to grow AMA community

  • Increases committee engagement among members and partners

Finance

Coordinates with the treasurer to maintain financial goals

  • Maintains financial forecasting spreadsheet

  • Creates and maintains a finance calendar that keeps track of insurance renewals, invoices, etc.

  • Ensures the Treasurer and Bookkeeper have all information needed to generate monthly reports

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Exceptional planning and coordinating abilities.

  • Ability to guide and mediate actions of the board

  • Ability to work independently

  • Passion for leading and facilitating large and small group meetings.

  • Prior success in leading and implementing strategic planning that is purpose-based.

  • Strong understanding of the non-union commercial arts industry with prior experience in the field

SUCCESS IN THE ROLE WOULD LOOK LIKE

  • Being an effective go-between the members/partners and the board

  • Developing and innovating systems for managing all aspects of the organization

  • Growing membership and partnership base by 25% at end of their first year

  • Managing the development of a custom AMA website 

  • Hiring a part-time administrator by the end of their first year

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • Salary: $90,000 yearly, paid in bi-weekly installments by direct deposit

  • 15 days paid vacation, plus major US holidays

  • Healthcare benefits upon hire
