January Newsletter

The AMA has been busy! Now, we want you to join, as it’s only together that we will shape the future of our industry. This next phase will be guided largely by our members, partners, and the community-at-large.

Committee Launches!

Three AMA committees are well underway: Membership & Enrollment, Partnerships, and Business Affairs. Our next priority committees are Diversity and Community Development.

Membership / Enrollment

  • The Membership & Enrollment committee will hold its kickoff meeting the week of January 18. We’ll talk strategy on expanding membership and enhancing communication.

  • This committee will design an AMA membership survey to gauge our priority needs and ensure every voice is heard.

Partnerships

Business Affairs

  • Universal Bid Form for our industry has been one of the early initiatives of the AMA. The AICP Bid was introduced in 1975 to standardize bidding on commercials. It helped revolutionize their industry and has been the de facto standard since. We have begun the process with a small committee from the AMA Board with the help from our friends Lou Lesko/BlinkBid and Charles Aboah/CiMs.

  • At present, we have developed a sample form working off the AICP format.  Our line items also correspond to theirs.  We hope to make this available on the AMA site in both PDF and Excel forms.  If you are working with a software provider, they can use this as a template.  All members will be welcomed to use the form and share it with their in-house and outside producers.

  • There's still an incredible amount of work and decisions to be made before we finalize the bid and have it live on our site. We need your help and are asking ten members to join the committee.  Members that will be open to be early adopters in using the bid form.

If you are interested to join this committee or want to learn more, please contact us.
