02. Photo Production Guidelines

Build a Strong Foundation With Photo Production Guidelines

The AMA has created the National Guidelines - Photo production. Since the 1970’s, the AICP has been setting standards for the live action production industry. While many of us adhere to those, there are unique differences between live action and photo production. The AMA’s guidelines addresses those differences as well as areas of alignment with the AICP.

These guidelines were created to support, educate and advocate for the interests of our members in the photo production industry. Our goal is to create best business practices and standards through a collective voice that helps build a strong foundation for our future, while working to create a more sustainable, inclusive and diverse community.

We encourage you to review them today!

We aim to create committees representing the full AMA membership. In particular, our Membership and Partnership Committees need more advocates. The more members and partners we have, the stronger our collective voice will be. Let us know which committees interest you; you can select more than one.

The Usage Glossary is Now Live!

The AMA Usage Glossary is a collection of usage terms and their definitions. It serves as a resource for various industry requests and to help agents negotiate on behalf of their artists. Taylor & Taylor Note On Civil Authority Coverage

Insurance carriers are again now offering reshoot coverage for Civil Authority on production policies. The policy does come with a communicable disease exclusion, but the coverage would kick in for all physical damage to locations or access to locations. Many brands/agencies/clients are now requiring this coverage so make sure to double-check new contract insurance requirements.

Civil Authority Coverage – This coverage would reimburse the production company for any extra expense incurred as a result of the prohibition of access by a civil authority to your office, shooting location, or a facility contracted by the production company.
