AMA News: December 2023 Newsletter
A Note from our President
As the year ends, I want to thank all of you – our members, partners, and supporters – for contributing to the growth of the AMA. There was enormous participation from you across all of our efforts this year. You showed up in person, logged on to webinars and roundtables, downloaded resources, voiced concerns and praise, and came together to support our industry. Together, we amended legislation and embarked on new endeavors to protect our artists’ copyrights and enact tax exemption status for still photography shoots, all while adding resources and growing our programming and events.
We’re looking forward to 2024. Our first event will be the second speaker series with North Six: Commissioning for the Present and Future: A conversation among Create Directors about the decisions they make and why. This is set to be a robust discussion with leading creatives. Next year, we will launch an Associate Board to foster new relationships beyond agency owners. We will introduce new committees to better address specific nuances of representation, and we will actively expand our membership overseas.
As founders, business owners, and managers, we face ever-constant challenges. How we address those challenges distinguishes us and makes this industry rich and valuable, but it takes work. With the AMA, we now have an ally to support us in that work. If you can provide a year-end contribution, that money will directly support the work we do for the industry.
Thank you!
Vanessa Stevens, AMA President
